A simple script language for choreography of multiple, synchronizing non-anthropomorphic robots
نویسنده
چکیده
The scripting language described in this document is (in the first place) intended to be used on robots developed by Anja Mølle Lindelof and Henning Christiansen as part of a research project about robots performing on stage. The target robots are expected to appear as familiar domestic objects that take their own life, so to speak, and perhaps perform together with human players, creating at illusion of a communication between them. In the current version, these robots’ common behaviour is determined uniquely by a script written in the language described here – the only possible autonomy for the robots is action to correct dynamically for inaccuracies that arise during a performance. The present work is preliminary and has not been compared to properly to other research work in this area, and the testing is still limited. A first implementation on small Lego Mindstorms based robots is under development by Mads Saustrup Fox as part of his master thesis work [3]. 1 ar X iv :1 71 2. 08 44 8v 1 [ cs .R O ] 2 2 D ec 2 01 7

Web Service Choreography Verification Using Z Formal Specification
Web Service Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) describes and orchestrates the services interactions among multiple participants. WS-CDL verification is essential since the interactions would lead to mismatches. Existing works verify the messages ordering, the flow of messages, and the expected results from collaborations. In this paper, we present a Z specification of WS-CDL. Besides ve...
متن کاملTowards Socializing Non-anthropomorphic Robots by Harnessing Dancers' Kinesthetic Awareness
This paper discusses a novel approach towards socializing non-anthropomorphic robots, which harnesses the expert knowledge of dancers to develop abstract robot morphologies and their capacity to move in affective and expressive ways. We argue that movement offers a key to socializing non-anthropomorphic robots. Our Performative Body Mapping (PBM) method investigates the possibility of teaching ...
متن کاملCalibration of four degree of freedom Robotworld modules
Many industrial applications are well suited to non-anthropomorphic pick and place robots. Robotworld is adept at performing vertical assembly operations, which may constitute 60% of all manufacturing operations. Furthermore, non-anthropomorphic robots can achieve higher accuracy than anthropomorphic (six degree of freedom) robots because they can be calibrated to higher precision. In this repo...
متن کاملOn Anthropomorphism in Technology-Enhanced Language Learning: Does Modality Matter in Agent-Based Multimedia Instruction on L2 Idioms?
The present study aimed to satisfy a twofold purpose: On the one hand, it sought to verify the postulation that agent-based instruction could offer a compromise approach to teaching L2 idioms where form and meaning would be equally emphasized during instruction. Given that anthropomorphism has not been much under scrutiny, this research, on the other hand, sought to ascertain whether learning a...
متن کاملExploring Social Robots as a tool for Special Education to teach English to Iranian Kids with Autism
This case study investigates the effects of Robot Assisted Language Learning (RALL) on English vocabulary learning and retention of Iranian children with high-functioning autism. Two groups of three male students (6-10 years old) with high-functioning autism participated in the current study. The humanoid robot NAO was used as a teacher assistant to teach English to the RALL group. Both RALL an...
